Project Information Memorandum (PIM)
What is a Projection Information Memorandum?
A PIM involves:
• a check on the physical characteristics of the site (likelihood of flooding, slippage, etc.);
• a check that it complies with the District Plan rules, or whether a resource consent is necessary; and
• a check on the availability of services such as water and sewer, and where these are located.
What should be included with a PIM application?
For any building work you will also have to apply for a PIM. In order to receive your Building Consent as quickly as possible you should include in your Building Consent:
• A site plan of the lot where the building work is to take place, drawn to a recognized metric scale such as 1:100 and 1:500. This should include all proposed and existing buildings and show boundary setbacks, total site coverage, accessory building coverage (garages and sleep outs), property boundaries and features of the land.
• The site plan should show other requirements such as parking and vehicle maneuvering room as per the District Plan.
• Elevations of the building work should be included showing the Daylight Setback Envelope, boundary setbacks and height.
• A Certificate of Title for the property will be required for ALL building work excluding internal works (such as wood burners).
• Any consent notices or easements lodged against the Certificate of Title should be shown on the site plan and/or elevations as necessary.
If you have any queries about submitting a PIM contact the Planning department at Council. The District Plan is available here.
If any of these items are missing, we will have to request them and this will delay the issuing of your Building Consent.
