Information
The District Plan is the key document that tells you what you can and cannot do on land within your District. The District Plan covers the Commercial areas, the residential and industrial areas as well as the rural land in the District. The policies and rules within the District Plan are designed to maintain a high standard of environmental responsibility and ensure that we use our environment sustainably so other can also enjoy the environment in the future.
Council is required to prepare a District Plan under the Resource Management Act for the area and functions for which they are responsible. The most common of these functions relate to the management of land use and subdivision activities.
