GST for the Year Ended 30 June 2011

The rate types shown in the table below show rates GST exclusive and show GST in a separate line. This is a departure from previous years when rates were always expressed in GST inclusive terms. This departure was necessary for Council to accommodate the recently announced change to the GST rate that will apply part way through the financial year.

GST will apply at the current rate of 12.5% to the first instalment invoice and to any voluntary pre-payments of rates made prior to 1 October 2010.

GST will apply at the increased rate of 15% to the final three instalments payable on invoices issued on or after 1 October 2010 and to any voluntary pre-payment of rates made on or after 1 October 2010.

The Horowhenua District is part of the Horizons region as such rates for the Horizions Regional Council are payable but not included it the information provided here. Information on the Horizions Regional Council rates can be found here
