Precautionary Boil Water Notice - Levin Water Supply Only - Monday, 18 August 2008

The Horowhenua District Council has issued a precautionary Boil Water Notice for those residents and consumers in Levin, as well as those properties in the surrounding rural areas receiving water from Levin's town water supply.

This Boil water notice has been issued following the heavy rainfall adversely affecting the performance of the water treatment plant supplying these areas.

The supplies are currently running on reserve water, however, there is a small risk that new water entering the supply could be contaminated, and therefore residents are advised to boil their drinking water and that used for food preparation.

This precaution is effective immediately until further notice.
