Parade and Carols Join for Christmas

A few changes have been made to the Levin Christmas Parade to make the event a destination rather than a short trip.

Organisers have incorporated the Parade and Carols by Candlelight, usually held in December, into one big event which will be held on 29 November 2008.

Organiser Linda Archer said the parade usually started earlier but a 5.00 pm start was great for people spending time getting their floats up to scratch.

“With the parade starting at 5.00 pm, it takes the stress out of a last minute job and allows attendees to relax a bit and get into the spirit of Christmas.”

Mrs Archer said the Parade would leave the Showgrounds Events Park following a circuit along Weraroa Road past Horowhenua College, left down Trafalgar Street, and left again into Tiro Tiro Road back to the rear entrance of the starting venue. Stalls and entertainment would be at the main site and Carols by Candlelight would start at dusk. Parade Entry Forms are available from the Council building, The Chronicle, or by clicking here.
