Roundabout for Foxton's Park Street and Robinson Street intersection
Published on 11 April 2017
A new roundabout is to be constructed at the intersection of Park Street and Robinson Street in Foxton.
Horowhenua District Council has identified the need to improve the safety and efficiency of the intersection, currently controlled with “STOP” road-markings on Robinson Street.
Traffic has been steadily increasing on this intersection to a point where the current traffic controls are failing to safely and efficiently control the intersection.
The new roundabout will address both safety and efficiency issues, with its construction to start after Easter and continue into early June.
As part of this project, Council is also investigating options to improve pedestrian safety around Foxton Primary School.
