Civic Honours Awards nominations open
Published on 29 August 2017
Nominations for Horowhenua District Council’s Civic Honours Awards are now open.
The Awards recognise outstanding voluntary service by individuals and also community groups.
Service categories include Community, Conservation, Cultural, Education, Recreation/Sport, Religion, and Social.
The Civic Honours Awards special judging panel will include District Mayor Michael Feyen and three District Councillors.
The awards recognise local people and groups that have provided outstanding voluntary service and made a positive impact to the community.
Mayor Feyen says that throughout Horowhenua there are many extraordinary volunteers - unsung heroes of the community, working tirelessly behind the scenes as members of local, groups, societies and other organisations.
Nominations close on Friday 15 September and the Awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday 28 November at Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō in Levin.
