Precautionary Boil Water Notice issued for Levin

Friday, 27 January 2012

The Horowhenua District Council has issued a precautionary Boil Water Notice for those residents and consumers in Levin as well as those properties in the surrounding rural areas receiving a town water supply.

This Boil water notice has been issued following the heavy rainfall adversely affecting the performance of the water treatment plant supplying this area.

There is a small risk that new water entering the supply could be contaminated, and therefore residents are advised to boil their drinking water and that used for food preparation.

The water should continue to be boiled from today until Tuesday 31 January 2012 at which stage it is expected to be lifted.

A further notice will be issued then if required.
