First Phase of Public Submissions Close on Proposed Plan Changes
Saturday, 28 February 2009
The first phase of public submissions on Plan Change 20 (Rural Subdivision) and Plan Change 21 (Greenbelt Residential & Urban Growth) closed on Friday, 27th February 2009.
More than 100 submissions were received in relation to these two plan changes. The submissions cover a wide range of issues with some in support, and others in opposition to the Proposed Plan Changes.
With the first submission period now closed, the Council will prepare a separate report for each Plan Change that summarises all the decisions that have been requested by submitters. These reports are called the Summary of Submissions.
The availability of the Summary of Submissions reports for each Plan Change will be publicly notified and the reports made available to the public for inspection. The Council anticipates publicly notifying these reports by mid March.
People who have already made a submission in relation to these Plan Changes will be directly notified.
The public notification will commence the second phase of the submission process where the Council calls for Further Submissions. In this phase anyone has the opportunity to support or oppose any points raised in the original submissions to Plan Change 20 and 21. These comments are called Further Submissions. This is an opportunity for people to say whether they agree or disagree with the submissions that others have made on these two Plan Changes.
Anyone is welcome to make a Further Submission in relation to Plan Changes 20 or 21. They do not need to have already made a submission. However, it is important to realise that submissions can only be made in support of, or in opposition to, points raised in the original submissions.
