Environment and Planning Industry Alliance

Monday, 28 June 2010

Members of the Environmental Planning fraternity and Horowhenua District Council staff met this week to discuss matters of common interest. This is one of a series of regular meetings and newsletters intended to build relations between Council staff and the key customers they work with. The intention now is to hold a meeting or distribute a newsletter at three monthly intervals.

The meeting was opened by Council Chief Executive, David Ward, who spoke about some of the changes in local government likely to affect the planning industry.

The 25 people present covered a range of matters relating to the proposed District Plan Review, various amendments to the District Plan being undertaken at present, the proposed fees for the next financial year, progress on the Regional Council One Plan and procedural matters.

Mayor Brendan Duffy comments that he is “pleased with the positive comments he has received from participants and looks forward to developing the relationship between Council and the Environmental planning community”.
