Boil Water Notice lifted for Levin

Tuesday, 31 January 2012

The precautionary boil water notice issued for Levin last Friday, 27 January 2012, has been lifted today with tests confirming the water is safe to drink.

A boil water notice was issued last week when high river levels affected the performance of the Levin water treatment plant and there was a small risk of contamination to the supply as new water entered the system.

Horowhenua District Council is now in a position to lift the boil water notice after three days of clear microbiological test results.

Council wishes to thank residents for their cooperation over this period.
