Elections 2007
The Local Government elections for the Horowhenua District Council (including Mayor, Councillors and the Foxton Community Board), Horizons Regional Council and the Midcentral District Health Board are held every three years, always on the second Saturday in October. In 2007 they were held on 13 October 2007.
The elections were held by postal vote. All elections will be conducted using First Past the Post (FPP) system, except for the MidCentralDistrict Health Board elections which were conducted under the Single Transferable Vote (STV) system. Ratepayer Electors
You can enrol as a ratepayer elector if:

You are a Parliamentary elector who occupies a rateable property within the region, district or community, but whose addresses as Parliamentary electors is outside that region, district or community;

Persons such as companies, banks or bodies corporate which are occupiers of rateable property in the region, district or community
-
Persons such as joint tenants and tenants in common who are occupiers of rateable property in the region, district or community

Are You Enrolled to Vote?
The Horowhenua District Electoral roll is taken from the Parliamentary roll prior to a local body election. The latest Parliamentary roll can be viewed at any NZ Post Shops.
Enrolment update packs are always posted to all enrolled electors prior to elections. If you need to update your personal enrolment details, simply complete the form, sign it and post it back.
