Rosy Outlook for Courthouse

One of Levin’s historical buildings is being relocated within the town after the Ministry of Justice gifted the old Levin Courthouse to the Horowhenua District Council.

Mayor Brendan Duffy said the Council negotiated to keep the original part of the courthouse as it was one of the few buildings available from the turn of last century.

“It has historical significance and its removal will come at no cost to Council.”

Precautionary Boil Water Notice - Levin Water Supply Only

The Horowhenua District Council has issued a precautionary Boil Water Notice for those residents and consumers in Levin, as well as those properties in the surrounding rural areas receiving water from Levin's town water supply.

This Boil water notice has been issued following the heavy rainfall adversely affecting the performance of the water treatment plant supplying these areas.

New Two-Lane Tavistock Road Bridge Opened

Travelling across the Tavistock Road bridge has been made safer for teachers and families of Koputaroa School and members of the wider community after a narrow bridge was widened last month.

The bridge was closed for two and a half weeks to allow for the construction of a two lane bridge.

Tavistock Road along with Koputaroa Road forms one of the most direct routes linking State Highway 1 to State Highway 57, north of Levin.
